Church law and practice encourages the training and practice of Lay Leaders of Prayer to assist the clergy with the many ministerial needs of the parish and diocese. These training sessions provide formation on presiding at a variety of services and includes verbal and non-verbal skills, such as a presence in movement, gesture and prayer. A study of each service with a practicum prepares the LLP for a variety of services. Formation this year will be at St. Michael in Canfield, from September 8 through November 3, 2026 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
