CCD Parent Meeting
All CCD parents are invited to attend an important Parent Meeting as we begin a new year of Religious Education.
There are several new changes to the CCD program with the goal of helping children grow closer to Jesus and strengthening the connection between faith, family, and parish life.
The meeting will provide an opportunity to learn about the changes, hear the vision for the year ahead, ask questions, and discuss ways parents and the parish can work together to make faith formation meaningful for the children.
The meeting will be held Sunday, October 4, at 10:10 a.m. in the school gym.
JaM (Jesus and Me)
Begins Sunday, October 4 during the 9:00 and 11:30 a.m. Masses at St. Charles Church
What ages take part in JaM?
Children who are presently in grades Kindergarten through Second Grade. Pre-K children are also encouraged to attend if they are accompanied by older siblings.
Where does JaM take place?
The children and the catechists meet the priest/deacon (form a semicircle) at the front of the altar where he gives them instructions and a blessing. They exit the church down the middle aisle and proceed to the St. Matthew Room to begin the worship experience. They will return down the middle aisle to the front of the altar and walk back to their seats. Note - Parents, please stand for your child so they can easily find you.
What is taught in JaM?
It is a celebration of God’s Word for young children to help them understand and celebrate the Word of God in a very meaningful way.
We are also exploring the possibility of bringing JaM to the St. Luke Campus during the 10:00 a.m. Mass. If you would be willing and interested in facilitating JaM sessions at the St. Luke Campus, please contact Janette Koewacich at This email address is being protected from spambots.
