A unique weekend event designed to be a powerful encounter with our Lord, rooted in the Sacraments and aided by praise and worship music as well as engaging keynote speakers. The Franciscan University Summer Youth Conference is in some ways similar to our Diocesan Youth Convention and the National Catholic Youth Conference, which take place in alternating years, but it is also distinct from each of those experiences and is offered every summer. The SYC not only provides the inspiration to live our faith more fully and authentically, but also provides the practical tools we need to do so. Approximately 2,500 youth will gather together at Franciscan University for the conference we’ll be attending; however, by the time the summer is over, there will be four more youth conferences hosted on the main campus and several others at various sites around the nation, meaning that tens of thousands of Catholic youth will be benefitting from the powerful encounter with Jesus Christ that these conferences provide.
